Chain slings are riggings connected by metal chain links. According to their forms, they are mainly welded and assembled. According to their structures, they are single or multiple. They are made of high-quality alloy steel. Their outstanding features are wear resistance, high temperature resistance, low ductility, and no elongation after being stressed. They have a long service life and are easy to bend, making them suitable for large-scale and frequent use. Flexible multi-limbs and various combinations can improve work efficiency and reduce costs.
How to use
1. Develop good hoisting habits and plan how to hang, lift and unload before lifting.
2. Prepare: Determine the weight of the object being hoisted and its center of gravity, read the accompanying documents carefully, and mark the lifting point and weight data. Only after determining the center of gravity can the hook be hung in the appropriate position!
3. The crane operator must be informed of the weight of the object being hoisted.
4. The crane hook must be suspended vertically above the center of gravity of the object being hoisted.
5. When lifting a lifting object, it is necessary to avoid damaging the lifting object and the rigging itself. To avoid rotation or falling, the following conditions should be observed:
(a) For single-leg rigging, the lifting point should be located vertically above the center of gravity of the load.
(b) In case of two-leg rigging, the lifting points should be located on both sides of the load, with the lifting points above the center of gravity.
(c) In case of three-leg and four-leg rigging, the lifting points should be evenly located at the level of the center of gravity of the load and above the center of gravity of the load.
The lifting angle β (located between the vertical line and the lifting legs) must be taken into account: the larger the lifting angle, the smaller the lifting capacity. Lifting angles exceeding 60 degrees are absolutely not allowed!
If a three-leg or four-leg chain rigging is used to lift unevenly distributed loads, the rated load of each leg should be calculated based on the two legs with the largest lifting angle. In case of two-leg rigging with different inclination angles, the rated load of each leg should be calculated based on the entire load being lifted by only one chain.
